About

First of all, welcome to My Life is Geekery! Thank you for stopping by!

I started My Life is Geekery in 2017 to share my love of all things nerdy and geeky. Here you will find anything from posts showcasing screenshots from my favorite games and book reviews to original writing and my favorite videos from YouTube. My hope is that you’ll find something new and exciting to enjoy and geek out over!

About Me:

My name is Amy, and I live in a small suburb somewhere in the grand state of Wisconsin. In the real world, I work in a public accounting firm in technology. In the fantasy/non-real world, I read, write, game, create, and learn.

I graduated with a degree in history from Carroll University in 2012 and obtained an MA in Public History and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in December 2017. I also started a consulting business in 2018 where I’d like to focus on assisting clients with research, proofreading, tutoring in history and English, and technology-based projects. If you’re interested in learning more, I invite you to connect with me at alwilliams006@gmail.com or on LinkedIn!

For as long as I could remember, I’ve loved what some might call nerdy or geeky. This has included books, learning, writing, gaming, exploring my surroundings, photography, technology, science, dinosaurs, and who knows what else! Back in the day, I could be found poring over the Redwall series by Brian Jacques, writing Lord of the Rings fanfiction, gaming away on my red Game Boy Advance SP, or creating characters and scenarios in my mind (and occasionally having conversations with myself).

Nowadays, I can pretty much be found doing the same activities – reading Brian Jacques (now in eBook form!), writing Lord of the Rings fanfiction, gaming away on my cell phone or Nintendo Switch, and still having conversations with myself. Guess I really haven’t changed all that much!
